Accelerated Entry into Master’s Degree programs are designed to allow current UVM undergraduate students to initiate graduate coursework while still an undergraduate, thus decreasing time and cost to obtain the master’s. A listing of currently available accelerated entry programs can be found on the Graduate College Website.
Regardless of when courses were or will be taken, an intent form is required.
Have you already taken graduate-level courses that you would like to apply toward both your undergraduate degree and your future master’s degree?
What Master's program are you planning to pursue?
In 500 words or fewer, describe your motivation for pursuing this program and how it supports your academic interests and professional aspirations. Please include any relevant experiences that have shaped your goals.
The graduate program will be entered into the student record as a secondary curriculum and will become the primary curriculum upon completion of the bachelor’s degree. Students may take — or may have already taken — graduate-level courses at UVM that can be applied to both the bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Courses taken prior to acceptance may be counted toward both degrees with approval from the program and the Graduate College, however, not all previously taken graduate courses will be eligible to count. Please list the courses you intend to take or have already taken for graduate credit prior to completion of the bachelor’s that will also count towards the graduate transcript.
AMP Process: Once you have completed and submitted this intent form, it will be reviewed by Graduate College Admissions and your intended Graduate Program. If admitted into the program, you will need to accept your seat. Following completion of your first term as a full-time graduate student after completion of the bachelor’s, Graduate College Student Services will notify the Registrar to have the courses added to your graduate transcript.
